A message from Neta

I cannot believe that it is soon two months since our festival on March 19!

We were so delighted to see it turn out to be such a success, and that everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves, both visitors and vendors. We want it to be a fun and rewarding event for all, and it seems that indeed it was. It was wonderful to see not only women visiting, but men as well who seemed to enjoy themselves just as much! As always our draw prizes were a big hit, and quite a few were actually won by men!

I want to thank our vendors for their great displays and cheerful interactions with the public. And of course I must thank our own guild members that made the whole thing possible, both during the months of planning and at the event.

For next year we have decided to forego the two separate areas and keep it all in the large gym rooms area, (which will be 3 times as large as the one gym we had this year) as we were told that some visitors seemed to have overlooked the wonderful activity and sales area in the multi purpose rooms, in spite of signs.  We really do not want anyone to miss any of the fun! Well, it was a learning experience, as it always is when one is starting something somewhere new.

I also want to thank the vendors for taking the time to fill in their feedback forms – it is a big help in the planning for next year’s festival!  With your help we also have some additional interesting names on our vendor contact list!

Of course we hope that both our visitors and vendors are looking forward to the next festival!  It will take place on Saturday March 18, 2017, again at the Peterborough Sports and Wellness Centre. So go ahead, mark it on your calendar!

As for now, have a lovely summer!

2015 Fibre Arts Festival

Our Fibre Arts Festival (that took place in the main library auditorium at 345 Aylmer Street, on Saturday March 21, 2015), was a wonderful success, and a fun day was had by all who attended.
There were demonstrations and some hands on activities for adults and children.

There were also many beautiful and unique craft items available for purchase, as well as fibre, yarn and supplies for those who want to create their own special items.

Our door prizes were made up of fibre and related items donated by the vendors/demonstrators in attendance.
